Key Stage 1

The children in Key Stage One work on a curriculum which is planned to be appropriate to the child’s age and stage of development. We have many exciting topics through which all areas of the curriculum are addressed. Lessons are delivered in a variety of ways, from whole classes, small groups to individual instruction, according to the nature of the task and the expected outcomes. Within the class, work is organised with groups of equivalent ability, mixed ability and friendship groups to maximise time and efficiency and to develop skills both social and academic.

We focus on enjoying learning, whilst adapting to children’s differing abilities and stage of development. All areas of the National Curriculum are covered and independent learning skills developed.
