COMMUNITY LINKS

'The Headteacher, Staff and Governors are very committed to ensuring that the school and the local community are strongly linked. They view the school as having a central role in village life.' (OFSTED Report 2002)

Parents and other members of the local community are very welcome at Humshaugh First School; they actively participate in school life in a number of different ways:

• By working in the classroom - e.g. hearing readers
• By giving their time and talents on Activity Afternoons (Fridays 1.30 pm - 3.00 pm)
• By accompanying groups on educational visits and to the swimming baths
• By supporting fund-raising activities
