THE HOME SCHOOL CHILD AGREEMENT Through faith and Christian Values, the School will try to: a) Value pupils as individuals and encourage them to value themselves b) Encourage respect for others c) Care for the pupil's safety, happiness and well being d) Encourage pupils to do their best at all times e) Provide a broad and balanced education, setting realistic targets f) Provide information about the curriculum g) Have regular contact with the family to keep them informed of their child's progress h) Encourage pupils to take care of their environment and surroundings i) Maintain an open and welcoming environment and offer opportunities for pupils to contribute towards the daily life of the school The Child will try to: a) Enjoy opportunities offered by the school a) Be polite and show respect for others b) Be responsible for his/her own behaviour c) Do all his/her class work and homework to the best of his/her ability d) Have respect for all property and equipment e) Organise his/her own equipment e.g. sports kit f) Talk to an adult if he/she has a worry or a problem The Family will try to: a) See that the child goes to school regularly and on time, (the bell rings at 8.55 am), properly equipped for lessons with named clothing b) Contact the school to provide an explanation for absences, (on the first morning if possible) c) Let the school know about concerns or problems which might affect the child's behaviour d) Support the school's policies and guidelines for behaviour e) Support the child in homework and other opportunities for home learning f) Attend parents' evenings and discussion about the progress of the child g) Maintain good communications with the school/teacher Together we will try to support pupils' learning to help them reach their full potential Family Signature School Signature
All schools are required by law to produce a Home/School Agreement. Ours has been written after careful consultation with parents, staff and governors. Parents are invited to sign the document (there is no obligation) and return it to school. The school will then sign and send a photocopy home.
